The mats fold into 2-foot sections for storage and shipping.These items are great for gymnastics, exercise, or cheerleading. It is professionally made in our factory and are strong enough to be used by gymnastic schools. The mats are constructed of 1 3/8 inches thick firm polyethylene foam encased in an 18-ounce vinyl coated nylon cover.The vinyl cover is fire- retardant, puncture and mildew resistant. Velcro on the ends of the mat allows connection to additional mats for tumbling runs.

[...] Great.Used for demonstration of martial arts out on a sidewalk. (Think large throws with people several feet up in air before falling.) I was worried about mat density until I USED them. They were TERRIFFIC. We had good footing, landings were easy and injury free. Mats were not too soft (good footing) and not too hard (soft landings). I'm very pleased. I was worried about footing because the surface is very smooth, but we had no trouble with traction at all. The mat is deceivingly soft.
